Grace & Restoration · A Heart of Surrender
A Melody of Surrender
“Little things that should have been said and done can be said and done starting today.”
Tonight, as I listened to this rendition of “Always on My Mind,” I heard the song differently… and that’s when the tears began to fall.
It touched my heart as a love song to Jesus, a melody of surrender.
One never forgets the moment they surrender their whole heart to their Savior. I saw the highlight reel of my life—the ups and downs, the pits and peaks—all bringing me to that moment. My own Peter-in-the-courtyard, weeping-bitterly moment.
As I listened, I thought about the times I had given Jesus less than my whole heart. The moments I could have drawn near but stayed distracted. The little things I could have said and done but kept putting off. I thought about how faithfully He had loved me, even when I wasn’t loving Him back.
And my heart cried out…
Dearest Lord,
Forgive me.
Let me love You with my whole life.
Let me begin again.
And He did.
He met me with grace. He gave me another opportunity to walk closely with Him, filling my heart with the joy of being daily captivated by the greatest love story of all time.
So, know this… His love for you is still alive.
Come to Him. Give Him your whole heart, your whole everything.
Little things that should have been said and done can be said and done starting today.
You can make Him first.
You can take the time.
You can turn toward the One who has been waiting for you.
Jesus Christ forgave me. He won my WHOLE heart forever.
It’s Him.
Madly, truly, deeply—for eternity and then some.
Dearest Love of my whole heart, mind, body, and soul… thank You for loving me when I wasn’t loving You back. Thank You for being my Hosea, faithfully calling me home.
For redemption.
For restoration.
For reconciliation.
And for inviting me into the greatest love story of all time.
Our sweet love is ALIVE.
Little things I should have said and done, I now do.
And tomorrow, I want to do them again.
“But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.”
Ephesians 2:4–5
