An Ambassadorship Perspective

“You are an ambassador for the Kingdom of Heaven. Take your position. Stand at post. Champion your cause.”

From Misti’s reflection

My post-debate thoughts… #ambassadorshipperspective 🐑🎚️❤️

You can wake to read man’s thoughts or you can wake to read God’s. How many Christians woke in prayer this morning? How many woke and sought FIRST the kingdom of God and all His righteousness? FB, TikTok, and Instagram feeds can’t do for your heart and mind what the Book of Life and an intimate friendship with God can do for you. One has the potential to anger you. The other carries the power to bless you and give you peace. How sad to think some spent more time last night and this morning reading debate commentaries and watching news headlines than enjoying the privilege of fellowshipping with the Lord. Go home, Little Sheep. Go home and sit in the lap of the Shepherd. Do this FIRST and you will find that you’ve listened to the only opinion that truly matters.

Millions tuned in to listen to a man and a woman speak last night. Millions. Just imagine if all those people were as eager for an appointment with their Heavenly Father? Just imagine! Last night, people were ready, and eager! They waited expectantly! They knew the exact time they were going to speak. They were in front of their Tell-a-LIE-to-your-vision programming device waiting, hanging on to every single word. Oh, dearest children of God… 😭😭 Why do we trade our birthright for bowls of soup every single day? Why do we not wait on the Lord on bended knee eager and thirsty to hear His voice speak to us, hanging on to every nudge and prompting of the Holy Spirit? Why?! 😭💔 We are missing the blessing of our birthright! How earnest we are to make the voices of men mightier in our hearts and minds than THE VOICE of the one that can liberate us. Make room for God’s voice! Devote more time scrolling the tear-stained pages of the Word than the heated status updates of those rattled by Rome.

You are an ambassador for the Kingdom of Heaven. Take your position. Stand at post. Champion your cause. Make your feet to shine in splendor as the feet of those shedding abroad the gospel of PEACE in the hearts of the seeking and hungry.

How can you champion peace when you yourselves are at war? God’s banner over you is Love, for all — the hurting and broken, both lost as Republican and lost as Democratic. In your efforts to fight for the world, your passion for the kingdom has diminished. The counterfeit has deceived you, distracted you, and defeated you. Your countenance has fallen. Your face radiates anger when the Lord should be shining upon it. Your concern has become misplaced, no longer to seek and save the lost but to ensure policies and procedures. You have preached more of politics than you preached the gospel, your great commission given by the lips of the Son of God in His very last sentiments to you. You have won more for your political candidate than you have won for the kingdom. You’ve recruited more souls for your political stance than you’ve rescued from the danger of hell fire and won for kingdom purpose.

Let’s get to the heart of what matters:

On your deathbed, ready to cross into glory, preparing to wake for the Great White Throne, here’s the pivotal question…

Will you be more concerned about how many people you influenced to vote for a political candidate to save America or will you be concerned for how many souls you did or did not gather to run beside you as you sprint into the arms of Jesus?

This post is not written to condemn, nor is it written to convict. It’s written because I love you sooooo so much, and I don’t want you or I to miss out on our true purpose in life, the one that will make us HAPPY and fulfilled, not frustrated and angry.

I can’t find one letter written by Paul, Peter, James, Mark, Timothy, Luke, John, or even Jesus where they were trying to change the governmental structure of Rome, nor can I imagine them hindering their cause to campaign for the next Caesar, to fight for their favorite candidate in the race of Pompey the Great vs. Julius Caesar. What I do see spoken and reinforced is…

“My kingdom is NOT of this world.” ~ the Son of God

I see the disciples investing their time and resources in fighting for souls to choose belief in the Son of God. They invested their energy in championing that cause. When Paul stood before various rulers and authorities such as Felix, Festus, and King Agrippa II, he wasn’t using this as an opportunity to discuss the politics of Rome, issues at the border, or how to help the economy and fatten the pockets of Roman citizens, of which he was one. He didn’t even mention ways to pull Rome out of war with its neighboring provinces. Instead, his mission was clear and absolute for all listening. He used those opportunities to share the message of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. Paul stood before the greatest influencers of his day and what did he do with his voice? He shared his personal testimony of his conversion experience! He spoke of the resurrection of Jesus with passion and fervor. He stayed resolute in his mission to preach the gospel to both Jews and Gentiles. He could have discussed the hot topics of the day to help effect change and influence the policies of Rome, but he knew one day that would all fade away. He was concerned with another kingdom not of this world. Instead, as an ambassador of THAT kingdom, he emphasized his commitment to following Jesus and the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies IN Jesus.

Paul VOTED with HIS life, HIS actions, and His responsibility to bring the kingdom of heaven to earth. His vote for change was a way of life. He knew that if people trusted in Jesus and committed to follow Him, then and only then would Rome be different, so he focused there — where it mattered, where change REALLY begins — in the hearts of mankind by a move of the Holy Spirit. His focus was not to change policy but to see people transformed by the work of the Holy Spirit in their hearts and lives. Then and only then can a nation be free. For no nation, without Jesus, will ever experience peace and liberty. Without Christ, we can do nothing. In Christ, we can do all things. Paul knew this and so did the disciples, so in their wisdom, they focused there — on giving people the One thing that could make a difference… a Savior.

Christians, come home to the heart of your mission. Be as eager to listen to your Shepherd as you are the minds of men. Focus. Steady yourself. Get back on track. You’re running in the wilderness, and it’s the final lap of the race. Whose name are you wearing on your chest? Whose team are you on? Can people identify YOUR cause as easily as they knew the cause of our great pillars and disciples of the faith?

Reroute.
