Let It Settle, Dear One
Jesus once said:
It's easy to love
when someone is being good to you,
but what of those
that trigger you,
instigate you,
irritate you,
insult you,
or hurt you.
In that moment,
can you settle yourself?
Is temperance adorned upon your daily cloak?
Can you pause long enough
to put on bowels of mercy,
a deeply passionate rendering
of all that Christ has placed upon you?
Let it settle, Dear one.
Shhhh.
Let it settle.
Be slow to speak.
Wait.
Be quick to forgive, Little Sunbeam.
I'm showing you MY PATH.
Will you walk in the Way?
Less is more, my Darling?
Less of you, More of Me.
Place a kiss upon your husband.
It will feel much better
than the lump of hardened coal
you are wearing upon your neck.
It's choking you.
Replace it with a smile.
You are the beacon.
Don't let the darkness dim your Light.
I'm waiting for you to get still.
You're still fighting.
You're still angry.
You're still busy.
You're still talking.
Listen.
Quiet yourself.
It's almost time to sleep,
and I'm here to wash away the pollution.
Come to me, My Darling.
I shall wash you white as snow.
Let me make your heart pretty
before you drift off to dream.
The war you've been raging
is not yours to fight.
Let Me do My job.
Will you do yours?
Delight in Me.
Sing Me a song.
Share with the one who needs it most,
the one who didn't smile back.
The one who interrupted you.
Smile at your challenger.
Make it a good one,
a REAL one,
a smile of the heart.
Then, stand still and watch
what My Love IN YOU can do.
Let's Move Mountains, Kid!
But first, you sleep.
Goodnight, My Love.
Tomorrow

12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
